Senior Resource Manager

Senior Resource Manager
Hybrid | London

Permanent | £92, 000

One of the world’s most progressive, tech-enabled, future-facing law firms is looking for a Senior Resource Manager to take the wheel of resourcing across one of their leading  practices — a practice that’s exploding with complex, career-making work.

This isn’t a traffic-light scheduling job. It’s influence, strategy, performance, people and profitability wrapped up in one beautifully complex challenge.

Why this role is brilliant

Because here, resource management isn’t admin — it’s a lever for:

⚡ Real diversity of opportunity
You’ll design a fair, skills-based allocation model that breaks the old “who shouts loudest gets the work” culture and creates genuine access to career-enhancing matters.

📈 Career acceleration for hundreds of lawyers
You’ll open doors to new work types, new clients, new practice areas and visible development pathways.

💡 Data-powered decisions
You’ll introduce MI packs, reporting frameworks and insights that Partners will actually use — because they’ll finally have something meaningful to use.

🤝 Unconscious bias? You’ll break it.
Work will be allocated based on capability rather than popularity contests. That means inclusion with teeth, not posters.

🌍 Cross-office collaboration
Multiple locations. Multiple sub-teams. One joined-up strategy that stops people drowning in work in one corner while someone sits idle in another.

🎛️ Technology that actually supports change
You’ll help roll out a new resource-management platform and shape the processes, behaviours and governance around it. Think influence, not implementation.

What you’ll do

You’ll be the  lead for resourcing across a commercially important and growing practice, working with Practice Group Leads, Team Leads and Partners to:

  • Map capacity, capability and pressure points across the practice

  • Allocate work based on skills, aspirations and development goals

  • Forecast utilisation, monitor hours, flag issues before they become disasters

  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting packs people want to read

  • Identify training needs, wellbeing concerns and performance risks

  • Support secondments, recruitment and cross-practice workflow

  • Partner with Finance, HR, PM, BD and L&D to join the dots between work, performance, and profitability

Think of yourself as the Sherpa, sat-nav and air-traffic controller for one of the firm’s most commercially important practices.

What you bring

You might be a qualified lawyer who’s had enough of timesheets, or a resource-management specialist who thrives on complexity. Either way, you’ll have:

  • Experience in work allocation/resource management in law or professional services

  • The confidence to influence Partners and challenge constructively

  • Strong commercial instinct and data fluency

  • Curiosity, resilience and a gift for building trust quickly

  • The ability to join the dots between skills, work, ambition and output

  • Excel competence; resource-management software experience a bonus

  • A reputation for getting things done without drama

Translation: you’re the person people turn to when they realise “someone needs to sort this.”

Why now?

This firm is reshaping how a global practice runs. The model is shifting. The tools are changing. The demand for smarter, more equitable resourcing has never been louder.

If you want a role where the work you do actually changes the way a practice performs — not just how a spreadsheet looks — this is it.

If you’ve ever said “there has to be a better way”, this is the role that lets you build it. Hit apply — and prove it.

Ready to reshape how a global practice deploys talent? Apply today.

Knowledge Coordinator

Knowledge Coordinator – Private Funds

Permanent | £50,000–£60,000 | London / Hybrid
4 or 5 days per week

This role is for someone who likes order, structure and systems — and gets genuine satisfaction from turning information into something useful.

We’re working with a highly regarded private funds practice that is quietly investing in its knowledge function and doing it properly.

You don’t need to be a lawyer. You don’t need a degree. You do need to be organised, analytical and comfortable working independently with large volumes of information.

The role

Working closely with the Knowledge Counsel, you’ll support the development and day-to-day running of the Group’s knowledge function.

The team typically has 30–40 matters live at any one time, so this suits someone who can extract data, categorise information and keep systems accurate and up to date without needing constant supervision.

You’ll also be involved in testing and using Generative AI tools to improve how knowledge is captured and accessed — practical application, not theory.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining precedents, templates and samples across the private funds lifecycle
  • Organising and curating knowledge using systems such as iManage and SharePoint
  • Searching, extracting and packaging information to support fee-earners quickly and accurately
  • Working with lawyers to capture know-how and ensure nothing valuable is lost
  • Engaging with new tools, including Generative AI, to improve efficiency and consistency

Who this suits

This role would work very well for someone currently in:

  • A research, data or knowledge role
  • A professional services or information-led environment
  • Knowledge of private funds sector

You’ll be:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities
  • Confident dealing with stakeholders
  • Curious about systems, processes and technology
  • Looking for a role you can stay in and build on

Why people stay

  • Sensible workload and realistic expectation
  • A team that values accuracy over noise
  • Exposure to private funds without needing a legal background
  • Flexibility to work 4 or 5 days
  • A role designed for retention, not churnoliday and sickness records for the team, escalating significant issues to HR.
  • Developing innovative training and development programmes
  • Highlighting future talent and secondment opportunities
